Totally Amazing!Here I am remembering what it is like to be totally in charge of two little
ones - it's been awhile and I'm not 20-ish any more! But - I can't think of anything I'd rather be doing
at the moment! I do have to think about my Grandmother Swick - my sisters and I used to go to her house every summer
for several weeks along with my other 7 first cousins! She would watch all 10 of us by herself for several weeks at
a time. Of course, we were older than Carley and Graham are now, but I have to give her major league credit for taking
on 10 kids at once! I remember one year we were all there and we all came down with the mumps at nearly the same time!
Our parents were there that time (I think it was Easter break) - but, can you imagine 10 kids sick all at the same time?
Wow. And - there was only an 8 year span between the oldest and youngest of us!
Carley and Graham are such
delightful children (if I do say so myself). Carley is quite precocious, very intuitive and so sensitive (she is female
afterall!). She is such a great big sister although at times she doesn't appreciate that little brother isn't
quite up to her enthusiastic attention. She really plays well by herself and loves to sing and dance. Graham is
a very happy baby and easily comforted when hungry or tired. He hasn't figured out that it would be a good thing
to sleep all night yet - but that will come in time too. He is at that inbetween stage when he would entertain himself
completely if he were just able to sit up better or be a bit more mobile. That will come before we know it!
This morning (or evening for Syd and Abby in Shanghai) we visited by video phone over the computer - totally amazing!
Skype is so totally awesome! It was nice for the kids to get to see Abby and Sydney and I thinkk maybe Mom and Dad were
needing it a little too! We'll talk again tonight and probably once or twice a day until they come home. Carley
and Grant have been on the phone this morning - so entertaining to observe 3 year old phone conversations!
Ok - off to do a little work on my genealogy project and enjoy the little ones! More later........
